Show Notes
If you have aspirations to build a successful multi-million dollar private hearing practice – even against the biggest challenges you could face – you will love this interview with Dr Sunni McBride.
Dr Sunni was extremely open about the steps and what it has really taken to grow her practice – South Bay Hearing – to the $5m revenue mark. Starting her business in 2007, just her and a secretary, she now has 2 offices and 20 staff.
She has now got to the point where, importantly, she now spends more time on building the business as well as more time with her family, by building the team and infrastructure that gives her more freedom as the business continues to grow.
In this episode, Oli talks to her about the steps she has taken, key lessons learned and real honesty about the challenges she faced (and overcame).
Highlights:
“I quickly got to the point where I knew I couldn’t do it all. So I think the first major leap is when you hire someone else to be another professional.”
“How do you build and train your people to help them achieve their goals so you can achieve your goals?”
“Being away it was an inspiration that there is life outside of audiology and that I could function and do a lot of fun things and not be totally immersed in this.”
“We wanted to really come through on our brand promise of aftercare.”
“Nothing makes me happier than to see one of my long term patients walking out of another audiologist’s door with a big smile on their face laughing, because I know it’s been a good transition.”
“Focus your efforts on marketing and people – that’s what it’s all about.”
