In an industry where systemizing and adding real structure is rare, how could it benefit your practice and patients to focus on efficiency? Dr Emily McMahan of Alaska Hearing has demonstrated how introducing an “unbundled” model has paid off in her practice, recognising that one service model didn’t serve her patients.
Dr Emily originally had a 5-10 year plan to go into private practice, but just 15 months into her career as a practicing audiologist she decided to take the plunge. 6 years later she has two locations.
Looking at a patient and having a flexible service offering that can be built with them in mind has made a huge difference to how consulting appointments go, and the trust that is built from the outset.
Dr Emily talks to Oli about exactly how she has used this approach to build a highly successful practice.
